Kony 2012 by sakimichan

"Joseph Kony (born 1961 in Odek, Uganda) is a Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), a group engaged in a violent campaign to establish theocratic government based on the Ten Commandments throughout Uganda. The LRA say that God has sent spirits to communicate this mission directly to Kony.

Directed by Kony, the LRA has earned a reputation for its actions against the people of several countries, including northern Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan and Sudan. It has abducted and forced an estimated 66,000 children to fight for them, and has also forced the internal displacement of over 2,000,000 people since its rebellion began in 1986. As a result, in 2005 Kony was indicted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court at the Hague, but has succeeded in evading capture since." ~ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_K…

One The major problems I have with this article, there is no author sighted, no one to research, and opinionated facts everywhere.

Personally, the invisible children campaign I could care less about. What I do care about is the 66,000 abducted children and the displacement of over 2,000,000 people. I also care that he has been indicted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court. For that reason, I want to help those people. I don't support the massive amounts of money that is wasted, or the fact that the other side is potentially as bad (but we will cross that bridge if we have to). All media is inflated, the videos above have all the bells and whistles of propaganda, but I still think that this is still a fight worth fighting. I cannot donate a cent, because I know my money would be abused which is why I rarely donate money to any organization :altermind: That and I don't have any to spare :O_o:, but I can still demand justice and that is my ultimate goal.

My college has it's own Invisible Children chapter with one of my friends as the leader. Since I've known her the past 3 years, I've learned so much about the horrors going on over in Africa now, and it makes me sad how few Americans actually care about stuff like this. I feel like people not caring about the fact that CHILDREN are being used as soldiers shows the true depravity of our modern day, egotistical culture. I'm glad so many people are posting about this to spread awareness :)
